For fans
Does the artist really get my full tip?
Yes. 100% of the tip reaches the artist. Our fee is added on top and paid by you, and you see it before you pay — never taken out of the artist's share.
Can I tip in my own currency?
You can pay in Naira, USD or GBP. The artist receives their share in their own payout currency, and the payment processor converts it when the two differ.
Do I need an account?
No. Pick an amount, enter your email for the receipt, and pay.
Why do you need my email?
Only for your receipt. Nothing else — we don't use it for marketing, and it never appears publicly.
Is my card information safe?
Payments are processed by Paystack and Flutterwave, who handle the card details directly. Hipstarr never sees or stores your card information.
What if something goes wrong with my payment?

For artists
How does the fee work?
It sits on top of the tip and the fan pays it — 10% on Naira payments, 20% on USD and GBP payments. You keep 100% of every tip.
When does the money reach my bank account?
Your share is split to your own account at the point of payment, rather than being held by Hipstarr. Naira tips reach your bank the next working day — we've confirmed that with real money, not just read it in a schedule. USD and GBP tips take about five working days: a payment from abroad has to clear internationally, arrive in Nigeria, and convert before it can settle to you. Both of those are normal waits, and your dashboard shows the tip the moment it's paid, not when it lands.
What do I need to join?
A bank account, and a fan who wants to support you.
What currencies can I receive in?
Naira, USD or GBP. You choose one when you set up your page.
Can I stop receiving tips?
Yes, any time, from your dashboard — Pause my page. Fans then see a short note instead of the tip form, and you can turn it back on whenever you like. Nothing is deleted: your tips, your supporters and your page link all stay exactly as they were. You don't need to ask us, and you don't need a reason.
Why does my page say “under review”?
Every artist is reviewed by a person before going live. It protects artists from being impersonated and fans from being defrauded. It's usually quick, and we email you the moment your page is live.
What happens if a payment fails?
Nothing is charged and nothing reaches you. You'll only ever see payments that actually went through.
